WHAT: An interactive night of professional networking and round-table discussions with young professionals and leaders and in business, law, mental health, education, civic, and faith-based organizations.

WHY: You may know someone or you may be struggling with a mental health issue. Share your experience and learn fact vs. fiction about mental illness. Network & socialize with your peers. Join the movement to reduce the stigma of mental illness.

Keynote Speaker:
Hakeem Rahim, Ed.M., M.A., Youth Mental Health Speaker, Educator & Advocate. Diagnosed
with bipolar disorder as an undergraduate at Harvard University, Hakeem Rahim tells his journey
from mental illness to wellness. He has testified in front of Congress, was featured in USA Today
and has shared his journey with over 5,900 students via NAMI Queens/Nassau’s Let’s Talk Mental Illness TM presentation. Dedicated to changing perceptions about mental illness, Hakeem
emphasizes the importance of compassion, understanding and community advocacy.
Mental Health Round-Table Discussions:

o What are the biggest challenges for individuals to share their experience and seek help?
o How can we build partnerships to change perceptions?
o What are the specific next steps we want to work on locally?
